The women of East Timor are particularly famous for weaving a traditional cloth which is known as “Tais”. Tais has been used in this region since centuries. Historical significance of Tais is evident for the use of Tais cloth in the preparation of the religious attires. These dresses were used by the church in the religious ceremonies along with other items like feathers and ornaments.

Suku Dayak Indonesia

 

Dayak  or  Daya  (old spelling: Dajak or Dyak) is the name by residents of the coastal island of Borneo was given to the residents who inhabit the interior of Kalimantan Island (Brunei, Malaysia comprising Sabah and Sarawak, and Indonesia, which consists of West Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, Borneo Central, and South Kalimantan). There are 5 indigenous tribes of Borneo, namely Malay, Dayak, Banjar and Kutai Paser BPS According to census of 2010, there are Dayak tribe in Indonesia, covering 268 types of tribes. Dayak culture is a culture Maritime or marine. Almost all of the proper name of the Dayaks have meaning as something related to “perhuluan” or river, especially in the names of family and kekeluargaannya name.

Dayak people called it only exist in Borneo, are why they are called Dayak or “Dayak” in Borneo generally means “The Outback” is far and apart from city life.

Once did so. Everywhere there Dayak villages. They always move to the other areas, if they live where there are people from other tribes who also live or open a township near their living areas.

Called ‘Dayak’ means it’s not just for one race, but rather a variety such as  the Dayak Kenyah, Dayak Hiban, Dayak Alas, Bahau Dayak, Dayak Continent, Basaf Dayak and Punan Dayak  are still often accompanied by dozens of “Uma” (child rates) and are spread throughout the region of Borneo.

Ada 5 suku asli Kalimantan yaitu Melayu, Dayak, Banjar, Kutai dan Paser Menurut sensus BPS tahun 2010, suku Dayak yang terdapat di Indonesia meliputi 268 jenis suku bangsa. Budaya masyarakat Dayak adalah Budaya Maritim atau bahari. Hampir semua nama sebutan orang Dayak mempunyai arti sebagai sesuatu yang berhubungan dengan “perhuluan” atau sungai, terutama pada nama-nama rumpun dan nama kekeluargaannya.

Orang yang disebut Dayak itu hanyalah ada di Kalimantan, sedang kenapa mereka disebut Dayak atau “Orang Dayak“ dalam bahasa Kalimantan secara umum berarti “Orang Pedalaman“ yang jauh dan terlepas dari kehidupan kota.

Tiwah ceremony is custom event Dayak tribe. Tiwah a ritual performed for the delivery of the bones of the dead to Sandung already made. Sandung is a kind of small house that was made specifically for those who had died


Tiwah ceremony of Dayak tribe is very sacred, in this Tiwah event before the bones of the dead are in between and put into place (sandung), a great many ritual events, dance, voice, drums or other entertainment. Until finally the bones in place in place (Sandung).

Tiwah rituals intended as a ritual to straighten the spirit or spirits traveling towards related Lewu Tatau (Heaven – in English Sangiang) so they can live a peaceful, tranquil environment Sang Power. In addition, the Dayak tribe Kalteng Tiwah also meant as a procession Kalteng community to release Rutas Dayak tribe or family departed for the misadventure left from bad influences that hit.

For Dayak tribe, a death process needs to be extended with advanced rituals (completion) so as not to interfere with the comfort and Securiy living person.Furthermore, the aim is also to release Tiwah bond widow or widower status for couples families. Post Tiwah, a custom they diperkenakan to determine further or permanent life partner choose not to marry again.
